As they say, better late than never. It’s been sitting on the hard drive for almost two weeks but between illness and lack of time, it’s only making its way online now. Worry not though, Dale (Digital Doodles), Colleen (Mary Ostler Wood Butchery & Other Stuff) and I have lots to say about everything opening in April and a few tangents as well. After all, where would Row Three be without tangents?

  1. The word is so to see Clash in 2D. Even when I bought my title the person said this (which is odd – considering they work at the theatre). I saw it in 2D and enjoyed it, although it ain't perfect.

Wow, surprized not a lot of love for Nightmare on Elm Street. I think the trailer looks pretty decent although a lil too hommagey. But cast alone has me going to see it (plus being horror). Also keeping eye on Kyle Gallner, he's been great in anything I've seen him in.

Ewan McGregor has me interested enough to see I Love You Phillip Morris, although maybe not in the theatre. But I think it looks kind of cute 🙂

Yes, more love for The Wild Hunt! It's coming out in Toronto April 9, 2010 and I can't wait to see it for the third time. It's awesome.

  2. But if it were not for the Red-Band trailers, I'd have avoided this film completely, and in turn miss out on what will be one of the more fun blockbusters of the year.

  3. Yeah agreed on the Red Band trailers, they show a lot of the best scenes. It still lived up to the hype they promised though which is always a good thing. There's nothing worse than a film that looks good initially but then only has enough quality moments in it's 100 mins running time to fill a 1 1/2 min trailer.

  4. There is a nice flow and feel to the story in Kick-Ass, a gradual layering that is missing from a lot of these types of movies, as measured paced storytelling goes, this is what makes a lot of good scenes shown in the trailer not such a bad thing. The sum of the parts is pretty solid.

  5. On KICK ASS – review is coming (embargoes suck) but I did really enjoy it to the point where I'd happily pay to see it. A whole lot of fun. Hubby on the other hand, had issues with it – namely one issue: Hit Girl. He didn't see the comedy in a 12 year kicking butt.

  6. Marina. Chloe Moretz was the best part! IF this film was not so delightfully anti-PC, I'd not have enjoyed it that much. That being said, the story is pretty strong, and that is a good thing.

  7. I don't get the embargo, surely now it's out in other countries reviews are going to be knocking around all over the internet. It seems a waste of energy, especially considering how positive all the reviews have been so far. Surely a bunch more will help boost the ticket sales.

Anyway, I got my review up already so power to the people! No one told me I couldn't. God bless the United Kingdom 🙂

  8. Oh yeah, I understand why you guys are sticking to the embargo, I would too, I just find it odd that there's an embargo in place when half the world can already freely go to see it at the cinema.

  9. So I've been speaking to the director of "The Joneses" and apparently he's made a new cut of the final act of the film. I'm not sure exactly how it is different, but once this thing hits theaters, we should be able to have a spoiler review somewhere and hash it out.
