After the Credits Episode 254: February Preview

A trailer that sells not only the sequel but it’s predecessor as well? YUP.

It’s hard to believe that a month has already gone by since we celebrated the coming of 2019 but here we are in February with a batch of new movies to talk about.

Dale (Letterboxd) and I (Letterboxd) found some time during the week to check out the movies coming this month and though it’s not looking too much better than January did, there are a couple of promising looking movies in the future, including a romantic comedy starring  Rebel Wilson that doesn’t look half bad.

If you’d told me last year that I’d be looking forward to a romantic comedy starring Rebel Wilson I would have laughed but alas, here we are.

After the Credits Episode 253: Littlest Hobo Media Spew – December

The final few weeks of 2018 proved to be the most productive weeks of media consumption for the ATC crew. Need proof?

Look no further than this month’s Little’s Hobo Media Spew (now complete with jingle!) in which Dale (Letterboxd), Colleen and I (Letterboxd) talk about all the stuff we watched over the holidays and prepare yourself for the onslaught. There is much to be discussed!

Could it be? A modern take on “The Sword in the Stone” that doesn’t suck?!

Happy New Year! Yes, I realize it’s been a minute since we rang in 2019 but the ATC crew took a tiny little vacation and we missed the first week of 2019 releases.

Thankfully, it doesn’t look like we missed much and frankly, January in general is looking pretty bland but Dale (Letterboxd), Colleen (hurray!) and I (Letterboxd) look ahead to the desert of January and what’s that in the distance? Is that a mirage or a couple of possibly good-looking movies?! Listen in to find out the titles we think could possibly pass the mustard.

Spider-Man Returns!

Welcome to December. We’ve been warning about its approach and now it’s here. Where it came from we don’t know but we’ll handle it the best we can: with drinks, friends and podcasts (obviously).

For the final preview show of the year, Dale (Letterboxd) and I (Letterboxd) are rejoined by Colleen (hurray!) to look ahead at the final batch of movies coming to us in 2018 and among them are, unsurprisingly, a few more award hopefuls.

Also mentioned on the show is Jeff Malmberg’s wonderful documentary Marwencol from which Welcome to Marwen has been adapted. Marwencol is both available for purchase and also streaming on a number of diferent services.

The charming Zoey Deutch

In October, I was still suffering from post-festival blues which meant I didn’t want to do much beyond sleeping. Thankfully, Dale has more than stepped up!

Colleen is still MIA this episode but Dale (Letterboxd) and I (Letterboxd) got together to talk about some stuff we’ve been watching, reading and listening to including the return of some old favourites.

If you haven’t already subscribed to the show, you can do so on iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher Radio, Pocket Casts and Google Podcasts and all of the other places you get your podcast. Don’t mess with Viola

It’s hard to believe that the end of the year is almost upon us. Where did 2018 go?

Once again the show is one member down as we recorded this on-the-road during the week but Dale (Letterboxd) and I (Letterboxd) managed to find a bit of time, a bit late but as they say, better late than never, to talk about November’s long roster of releases including a couple of festival faves, some feel-good dramas and a Christmas movie. In November. WTF?

Skull World!

We’ve taken the show on the road! Out of necessity, not choice which means we’re still one member down.

So while Colleen was recuperating from a long day of work, Dale (Letterboxd) and I (Letterboxd) found some time to touch base on what we’ve been watching and our lists this month include our usual variety of movies, TV and even a couple of new podcasts!

After the Credits Episode 246: VIFF 2018 Dispatch #3

The Favourite is definitely one to look for this holiday season

Sixteen days, a weekend of rest and a whole lot of movies later, VIFF is over (mostly – a few films are still screening this week as part of VIFF Repeats).

Minutes after the closing screening of the fest, Festival Correspondent Bill Harris (Twitter) of Green Screen of Death, Lisa (who didn’t provide a list but did chime in occasionally) and I (Letterboxd) found a semi-quiet place on the streets of Vancouver to count down our favourite films of this year’s festival.

Been there. Done that. Never again.

It has been a busy week of movie festivaling since we last touched based about the happenings of VIFF but in that week, we’ve caught a couple of the big buzz-worthy titles including Under the Silver Lake and the new Lars von Trier debacle The House that Jack Built. I’m joined once again by Festival Correspondent Bill Harris (Twitter) of Green Screen of Death fame, to catch up on the last week of movies.

I’ve also been posting very regular updates on Instagram so be sure to follow along for more regular updates!
