If we’re lucky, this is the end of these ridiculous mashups
We’ve seen stuff! Really!
Much of the TV we usually watch is either on hiatus or about to disappear on summer break so this month, Colleen, Dale (Letterboxd) and I (Letterboxd) touch base on a couple of finales, share thoughts on some recently seen movies, books and the usual rundown of podcasts!
Can you believe it? Another episode already? There was just so much to talk about and we managed to find the time to record so why hold on to the gloriousness when you can enjoy it in a more timely manner? I mean, you want to fangirl with us right? And there is fangirling this week!
This week Sarah (@iBrockely) and I (@themarina) talk Hollywood news including announcement of the upcoming Flash movie director, the DCU “Rebrith” and our feelings on Netflix tracking our viewing habbits before we get into some movie talk.
SPOILER WARNING! We get spoilery with the Me Before You discussion for both the book and the movie and though we say that it’s the last thing we’re going to talk about but we lied! We couldn’t help ourselves and added a few things at the end so… the spoiler filled conversation starts at 00:52:00 and ends at 01:04:32.
It’s been an interesting few weeks in the world of pop culture and inside the latest episode of Girls on Pop, Sarah (@iBrockely) and I (@themarina) talk about some of the big news of the last few weeks – from the restructuring at Warner Bros. which had the online movie world all up in arms to the TV upfronts which recently wrapped up (we recorded the show splat in the middle of up fronts week).
That’s exactly how we’re feeling as June rolls in and we are reminded that half othe year has come and gone with only a handful of really memorable movies and with only one or two worth any note coming in June. Yet… Coleen, Dale (Letterboxd) and I (Letterboxd) gather our wits and run down this month’s opening movies.
Is it really summer movie season? Because judging by these titles, you’d be hard pressed to guess it.
It’s been a busy few weeks for the ATC crew. While Colleen slowly prepares herself for a turn in the sequel of Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer, Dale (Letterboxd) and I (Letterboxd) talk about all of the TV we’ve been watching lately. And there’s a lot of it!
Where exactly did April go? Seriously, it seems like just yesterday we were talking about what was coming in April and now April has come and gone and we’re looking forward to a very busy May which includes a little something for everyone including Coleen, Dale (Letterboxd) and I (Letterboxd).
Just when you started to think you’d gotten over the hump of people talking about The Wonder Woman movie, we come in and pull you back into the fold!
On the latest episode of Girls on Pop, Sarah (@iBrockely) and I (@themarina) hash out some thoughts on Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, delve into some TV talk and Sarah rants for a moment on the events that have led her to give up on TV’s “Sleepy Hollow” among a few other things including much gushing on my part for Starz’s new offering “The Girlfriend Experience.”
There is much to love about The Night Manager. Thank you Susanne Bier!
Movies have definitely taken a back seat the last few months. Part of it is the doldrums of early year releases which are often mediocre at best. Throw in a load of really great (and in some cases not so great but they tickle us anyways) TV shows, and you get a very TV heavy media spew.
Listen in as Dale (Letterboxd), Colleen and I (Letterboxd) catch up on what we’ve been watching lately!
This year’s flu season really hit me hard and as a result, we were unable to record anything for March but we wouldn’t let you down two months in a row so amidst holidays and new work schedules, Coleen, Dale (Letterboxd) and I (Letterboxd) managed to find some time to get together and look ahead to what’s coming in April. And holy crow, there’s a lot of stuff coming in April!
After an unexpectedly long hiatus, Girls on Pop returns with episode two which is chalk full of great conversation!
This week Sarah (@iBrockely) and I (@themarina) start with some deep discussion on early reaction to Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and how the movie seems to have reached oversaturation before it even opens.
We then we move onto a bit of discussion on the new trailer for Now You See Me 2 followed by a quick, spoiler free dip into “Daredevil” season 2 (spoiler free because I haven’t seen any of it yet!) and we finishing strong with a long and VERY SPOILERIFIC discussion on the latest “The 100” scandal. Don’t worry, we give you plenty of notice and opportunity to turn off the show before we talk spoilers!
