Where exactly did April go? Seriously, it seems like just yesterday we were talking about what was coming in April and now April has come and gone and we’re looking forward to a very busy May which includes a little something for everyone including Coleen, Dale (Letterboxd) and I (Letterboxd).
Just when you started to think you’d gotten over the hump of people talking about The Wonder Woman movie, we come in and pull you back into the fold!
On the latest episode of Girls on Pop, Sarah (@iBrockely) and I (@themarina) hash out some thoughts on Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, delve into some TV talk and Sarah rants for a moment on the events that have led her to give up on TV’s “Sleepy Hollow” among a few other things including much gushing on my part for Starz’s new offering “The Girlfriend Experience.”
There is much to love about The Night Manager. Thank you Susanne Bier!
Movies have definitely taken a back seat the last few months. Part of it is the doldrums of early year releases which are often mediocre at best. Throw in a load of really great (and in some cases not so great but they tickle us anyways) TV shows, and you get a very TV heavy media spew.
Listen in as Dale (Letterboxd), Colleen and I (Letterboxd) catch up on what we’ve been watching lately!
This year’s flu season really hit me hard and as a result, we were unable to record anything for March but we wouldn’t let you down two months in a row so amidst holidays and new work schedules, Coleen, Dale (Letterboxd) and I (Letterboxd) managed to find some time to get together and look ahead to what’s coming in April. And holy crow, there’s a lot of stuff coming in April!
After an unexpectedly long hiatus, Girls on Pop returns with episode two which is chalk full of great conversation!
This week Sarah (@iBrockely) and I (@themarina) start with some deep discussion on early reaction to Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and how the movie seems to have reached oversaturation before it even opens.
We then we move onto a bit of discussion on the new trailer for Now You See Me 2 followed by a quick, spoiler free dip into “Daredevil” season 2 (spoiler free because I haven’t seen any of it yet!) and we finishing strong with a long and VERY SPOILERIFIC discussion on the latest “The 100” scandal. Don’t worry, we give you plenty of notice and opportunity to turn off the show before we talk spoilers!
The concept for Girls on Pop was simple: women talking about pop culture. And so the show was born!
On the inaugural episode of the newest addition to the Row Three roster of awesome audio content, we introduce ourselves – more accurately, I (@themarina) introduce my co-host Sarah Brocklehurst (@iBrockely) – and jump right into the action with discussions on Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, the hottest gif ever, the “Daredevil” season 2 trailer and we wrap things up with Now You See Me 2 and how we might be the only two people excited about the sequel.
Oh yeah, and “The 100” is in there as well. We promise to have better show notes next time. This time around…
The 100. Get over your fear of the CW and watch it already!
The holidays have come and gone and we’ve been watching a butload of stuff. I’m talking full on catch up mode in both the TV and movie fronts so it’s no surprise that this month’s episode of “what else we’ve been watching” runs a little long.
Listen in as Dale (Letterboxd), Colleen and I (Letterboxd) catch up on what kept us sane through the holidays. And beyond!
He becons many sequels. The role Ryan Reynolds was born to play
Sooooo we sort of missed December due to the festival craziness and then January… well, that was all my fault. That’s what a week of holidays will do to you. It made my brain so mushy I forgot that we were supposed to record and then regular January stuff happened and time just vanished!
It was probably for the best. January at the movies looked absolutely terrible. Good news is, Coleen, Dale (Letterboxd) and I (Letterboxd) are back just in time for some of the good stuff to start our year of podcasting off right!
October brought on a slew of both returning and new TV. Listen in as Dale (Letterboxd), Colleen and I (Letterboxd) catch up on what kept us entertained (and staying up late into the night) throughout October!
We’re fully into awards season and the only thing I can really think about is: where did the year go?
Just the same, there’s still two months left in 2015 and if November is any indication, a lot more movies to look forward to. Coleen, Dale (Letterboxd) and I (Letterboxd) manage to completely overlook the fact that we’re a month away from a new Star Wars movie to concentrate on the titles opening this month.
